About Land of Hope

Welcome to “Land of Hope,” a musical project that goes deeper than just tones and words. Here we share the story behind the album, the work Ruth Iren Holand does, including in Nepal, and how music can be a source of hope, life, and comfort for us.

Land of Hope and the story behind

Imagine sharing something precious with a friend. The “Land of Hope” album is exactly that – a musical story that holds both hope and challenges. Ruth Iren Holand has created, together with the Swedish composer Carl Michael Bergerheim, and a big bouquet of singers, musicians and technicians from Sweden, Norway and Czech Republic,   a work that reflects her deep commitment, both as an artist and as a fellow human being. Each track carries a story, a prayer, and a vision of a better future. The album is a journey through personal experiences and a testimony to the beauty of life, even when faced with adversity. We hope that these songs will touch you and give you a moment of peace and reflection.

Ruth Iren Holand, a singer and songwriter living near the city of Moss, South - East of Norway, is behind this moving project. Her diaconal profile and commitment to the vulnerable shine through in everything she does. This album is the result of her vision to create music that not only entertains, but also builds up and gives hope.

The work in Nepal and other countries,-  and the Land of Hope Community ( see link) has become a central part of this project. Through the streaming of her music, concerts and other support initiatives, we help women who are victims of human trafficking and give them the opportunity for a new start. Every contribution is valuable in this work to create a safer and more just society.

"The music on Land of Hope is not only beautiful to listen to—it also has a unique ability to comfort and uplift the listener"

Carl Mikael Bergerheim  (Musical Director)

An unique musical journey

What makes Land of Hope truly special is the remarkable collaborations behind the recording.

Together with the renowned Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the inspiring project choir Land of Hope Choir from Sweden, and musicians, soloists and singers from both Norway and Sweden, Ruth Iren Holand has created a musical landscape that feels both grand and deeply intimate.

Under the direction of orchestra leader Carl Mikael Bergerheim, and his wonderful and intelligent arrangements, these outstanding musicians bring emotional depth and nuance to every note. Their performance adds both power and sensitivity to the music, allowing the songs to unfold with warmth and sincerity.

The result is a musical release that stands out—not only for its artistic quality, but for its ability to comfort, encourage, and gently lift the spirit of the listener.

Who is the music for?

Land of Hope is an invitation.

An invitation to those who are searching, questioning, hoping—or simply drawn to music that is beautiful, reflective, and inspiring. These songs are written from a place of faith, but they are meant for anyone willing to listen. You do not need to share a Christian belief to find something meaningful here.

The album is also rooted in a deeper purpose. Through Ruth Iren’s diaconal work—among others in Nepal—and through her engagement with women who have survived human trafficking, hope is slowly being rebuilt where it was once lost.

By supporting this project, and by becoming part of the Land of Hope Community, you help give these women a new beginning and a safer foundation for the future.
